JEFFERSONVILLE — An 18-year-old woman was killed by a bouncing tire that broke from a pickup truck and struck her vehicle Wednesday on I-65 in southern Indiana.

Olivia Kustes,18, of Rineyville, Kentucky, died in the 12:50 p.m. crash on I-65 north near Eastern Boulevard in Jeffersonville, Indiana State Police said in a news release.

The other driver was traveling south in a 2016 GMC pickup when the rear driver’s side tire broke free and bounced across the concrete divider and into oncoming traffic, police said.

The wheel struck Kustes’ Chevrolet pickup, police said, causing fatal injuries.

The driver of the truck was not arrested or ticketed, police said.
