Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
8:34 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, North CR 700E, south of East May Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Amanda J. Tinsley, 36, North CR 700E, Warsaw. Tinsley was traveling north on CR 700E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
6:18 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, South SR 19, north of West CR 900S, Mentone. Drivers: Ross D. O’Connor, 16, East Main Street, Mentone; and Gregory H. Foster, 47, East CR 350S, Pierceton. O’Connor was traveling north on South SR 19 when his vehicle left the roadway. When O’Connor corrected his vehicle, he crossed into the other lane of traffic, striking Foster’s vehicle. O’Connor sustained injuries to multiple areas of his body and was transported by ambulance to Fort Wayne for medical evaluation. Foster sustained multiple injuries and was entrapped in his vehicle. Once extricated, Foster was treated on scene and prepped to be flown by Samaritan to Fort Wayne for medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
5:54 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, South CR 1000W, south of West CR 700S, Mentone. Driver: Debra I. Teel, 60, East Rochester Street, Akron. Teel was traveling north on CR 1000W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, South SR 15, south of West CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Chelsie M. Penrod, 31, South SR 15, Claypool. Penrod was traveling northbound on South SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Emmaline Halas, 18, West Main Street, Mentone. Halas told police she was backing her vehicle out of a parking space and did not see a parked car behind her, causing her to back her vehicle into the parked car. Damage up to $2,500.
4:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, North Lake Street, south of Osborn Street, Warsaw. Driver: Eduardo A. Duenas, 18, East Pierceton Road, Winona Lake. Duenas’ vehicle crossed the center line and traveled in the eastbound lane when the vehicle left the roadway, colliding with several pieces of wooden furniture owned by Everything Outdoors. Damage up to $2,500.
