KOSCIUSKO — A Pierceton man faces multiple charges after police arrested him when he returned a car that had previously been reported as stolen.

Rodney B. Knuckles

Rodney B. Knuckles, 33, 18 EMS B20A Lane, Pierceton, is charged with auto theft and intimidation, both level 6 felonies.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Dec. 18, to investigate an auto theft.

When officers arrived, a woman told police that during the night of Dec. 17, Knuckles took her car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The woman added that Knuckles had called her before the police had arrived and told her he would return the car. The woman told police she had not given the man permission to take her car.

Police left the residence and issued a bulletin in an attempt to find Knuckles, but were again called to the residence some time later the same day when county dispatchers told police that the man was reported back at the house.

Police reported finding the stolen car at the residence with Knuckles behind the wheel. Officers again talked to the woman who stated that when she talked to Knuckles on the phone and told him that police had been contacted, he allegedly threatened to burn her parents’ house down. She told police the alleged threat made her fearful.

Knuckles is scheduled to appear in Kosciusko County Superior Court III on Jan. 11 at 2:30 p.m.
