WARSAW – Warsaw sharpshooter Trevor Rumple has grown up dreaming of playing for the Tigers. That wish will continue.
The senior guard for the Tigers has announced and signed with the Olivet Nazarene University to continue his studies and play basketball for the ONU Tigers after he turns the tassel this spring at Warsaw.
Rumple’s versatility and athleticism has proven to be a spark for the Warsaw Tigers, and he looks forward to the opportunities ahead at ONU with coach coach Nick Birkey. Rumple, who returned from injury to play his first two games this past weekend, scored a career-high 18 points Wednesday at Whitko.
Trevor has also participated with Michiana Basketball Academy over the years through AAU basketball.
While Rumple has worked tremendously hard on the court, his service outside of the court has been tremendous. Rumple, who has served as a volunteer at Hire Park BMX, has been a consistent figure among those assisting over the past four years with Feed My Starving Children.
Rumple has also earned recognition as a member of the National Honor Society. Rumple back up his accuracy in the classroom, earning a 10.7 GPA (12-point scale) and scholar athlete status. Rumple intends to major in engineering.
A member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Olivet Nazarene is a member of the NAIA and is located in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
