
WARSAW — A Silver Lake woman was arrested after officers discovered drugs in her vehicle.
Cherokee Sizemore, 37, 402 E. Main St., Silver Lake, is being charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle while never receiving a license.
On Oct. 4, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed a female that appeared to be falling asleep while driving. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Sizemore.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Sizemore told the officer that she did not have a license. The officer was denied consent to search the vehicle. A K-9 unit performed an outer air search of the vehicle and made a positive alert.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and a spoon containing a residue that tested positive for heroin was located inside the vehicle. Sizemore also said there was a syringe inside a wallet located in the vehicle. There were also two bags containing a gray substance that tested positive for heroin.
Sizemore submitted to a chemical blood test. The blood test showed a positive presence of morphine in Sizemore’s blood.
She was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 12, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
