Warsaw Woman Charged With Domestic Battery

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested after police say she hit a male victim several times while he was sleeping.

Brittany Kay Sandberg, 31, 499 Clinic Court, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery in the precense of a child, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On Nov. 24, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery complaint. The male advised that he and Sandberg had been arguing so he went to bed to avoid further argument. According to the victim, Sandberg came into the bedroom while he was asleep and hit him on the head several times. The officer was able to observe a cut and redness to the male victim’s neck.

The officer then spoke with Sandberg, who admitted to punching the male’s face. The officer observed that Sandberg’s right hand was swollen and there were red marks on her knuckles. The officer also discovered that Sandberg had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Pueblo Calif.

When Sandberg hit the male vicitm, Sandberg’s child was present in the house.

Sandberg was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 24, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond. She has an initial hearing scheduled for Dec. 13.
