WARSAW — The Warsaw Career Center offers monthly digital skills workshops that can be completed in increments, with assessments and certifications upon completion. Prepare for a future in a growing business and manufacturing world that demands more digital literacy and online tech skills.

All Career Center events are free and open to the public. Events take place at the Community Career Center, located at 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw, adjacent to the Goodwill retail store.

Open Practice Interviews

  • 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 3
  • 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 17

 

The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who would like to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about being interviewed or struggling to land a job because of the process, these mock sessions will prepare you for the types of questions, from basic to personal, that could be asked. There will be a discussion on how to answer difficult questions, and what to avoid. Learn how to appear confident and highlight skills in the conversation. Another topic will be how personal appearance makes a great first impression. Choose a date and time to stop by and practice your interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount to the Goodwill retail store.

Would you like to hone in on what your interests are? Are you unsure of a career path? This workshop pinpoints your interests and what field of work best matches them. It will also delve into possible positions and opportunities that are out there today, check on forecasted pay grades, and lay out options for finding the career you want to pursue.

Build A Better Résumé

  • 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 13

 

Need a résumé or have one that’s old, outdated, or just needs a little more juice? This workshop focuses on providing the tools and advice to spruce it up and attract more attention. The workshop will also take time to lay the foundation for a brand new résumé for those who do not have one. Formatting, wording, key sections to highlight, and overall organization will be reviewed. When complete, you’ll have a clean, robust résumé that will give an employer an impactful first impression of you, your skills, and employment history.

Veterans Employment Services

  • 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 20

 

Daniel Reed from WorkOne will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information to veterans regarding available services in the local area. He will offer one-on-one employment help, employer resources, information on benefits and contacts for further information.
