UPDATE: Officers Looking For Driver Involved In Sunday’s Hit And Run Accident

Information is being sought to locate the driver involved with Sunday’s accident.

KOSCIUSKO— Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on SR 15 at Monoquet Road near Warsaw. One male subject sustained serious injuries and a female passenger was also injured in the leaving the scene collision.

Emergency personnel responded at approximately midnight Sunday, Nov. 18, to a personal injury moped crash. The crash involved a northbound moped that appeared to have been struck by a motor vehicle from the rear. The vehicle believed to have collided with the moped left the scene of the crash, and information on that subject is being sought at this time.

The operator of the moped was later identified as Michael J. McGrath, 44, Warsaw. McGrath was transported to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for treatment of head injuries sustained in the crash. A female passenger on the moped was also injured in the incident. Shelly R. McGrath, 42, Warsaw, was identified as that passenger. Shelly McGrath sustained non-life threatening injuries during the collision and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital. 

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department would request anyone with information to contact Investigators at (574) 267-5667.

Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Warsaw Police Department, Lutheran EMS, Plain Township Fire Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
