Marie Elizabeth Gray, 90, Columbus, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Warsaw. 

She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo. and has been a resident of Columbus since 1968. She was married to Norman Wilbur Gray in 1951 and he preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2013.

Mrs. Gray was an active member of the Mill Race Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. She crocheted over 600 afghans for the children at Riley Hospital for Children. She enjoyed making memories with family and friends and especially enjoyed face time with her great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating. Following the service, entombment will be at Maple Hill Mausoleum in Plainfield. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children in her memory.

Marie Gray is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Marie (Joe) Bryan, Warsaw; sons: Robert Norman (Susan) Gray, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Thomas Michael Gray, Warsaw; a sister, Janet Kaye (Dean) Leonard, Plainfield; grandchildren: Scott (Laura) Bryan, Matthews, N.C.; Kelly Bryan, Mishawaka; Amanda (Aaron) Coffman and Abigail (Wesley) Campbell, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a great granddaughter, Jenna Coffman. She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother, Opal Quarrels Wilson, her father Alvin Buell and her sister Iva Mae Myers.
