KOSCIUSKO — A Kokomo man was recently arrested after police say he entered a local home without permission.

Steven Kent Hart, 65, 2516 Brookshire Drive, Kokomo, is being charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 18, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a residential entry call. A witness advised she observed a male subject enter her neighbor’s residence. According to the witness, when she confronted the male subject, he drove off and left the scene. The witness was able to take a photograph of the subject’s license plate.
The officer ran the license plate and it returned to Hart. A photograph of Hart was shown to the witness, who confirmed that Hart was the subject who entered her neighbor’s residence.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer then spoke with the homeowner. The homeowner advised that her doors were locked and Hart did not have her permission or consent to enter the residence. The homeowner walked through her residence and was not able to identify any missing items.
Hart was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 26, with a $5,750 surety and cash bond.
