Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

7:18 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, East CR 1300N, east of North Old SR 15, Milford. Driver: Patricia A. Heinrich, 66, EMS D11 Lane, Syracuse. Heinrich was traveling on CR 1300N when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

5:47 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, North Harper Road, south of East CR 700N, Warsaw. Driver: Diamond J. Dove, 19, West Old Road 30 638, Warsaw. Dove attempted to navigate the curve of the roadway but was traveling too fast, causing her vehicle to leave the west side of the roadway and strike a tree. Dove complained of arm and shoulder pain at the time of the accident but refused medical treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.

4:24 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, West SR 14, east of CR 250W, Silver Lake. Driver: Darrell Z. Anderson, 56, East Columbia Street, Pierceton. Anderson was traveling west on SR 14 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

4:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, South SR 15, north of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Drivers: William L. Lloyd, 72, South West Channel Road, Warsaw; and Zachary D. McQueen, 23, SR 19, Nappanee. Lloyd was traveling west on CR 300S and did not see McQueen’s vehicle traveling northbound on SR 15. Lloyd’s vehicle struck McQueen’s vehicle, causing major damage to both vehicles. Damage up to $50,000.   

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

8:27 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, West Henry Street, south of North Dolan Street, Syracuse. Driver: Larry M. Sickling, 56, Woodsprings Drive, Granger. Sickling was turning west on Henry Street when his vehicle hit a utility line, pulling it from a house. Damage under $750.

       

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

11:12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, US 30, east of Spring Hill Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Finn E. Torpy, 23, East High Street, Atwood. Torpy was traveling east on US 30 when he struck a deer in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

3:27 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, SR 15, near Petro Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: David N. Rau, 68, EMS B40 Lane, Leesburg; and Heidi L. Green, 28, South East Street, South Whitley. Ray was traveling north on SR 15, following Green’s vehicle. Green said the vehicle in front of her stopped in the roadway for no reason. As she quickly stopped, Rau’s vehicle rear-ended Green’s. Damage up to $10,000.

3:07 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 109 E. Prairie St., east of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sara S. Taylor, 27, East Gault Street, Atwood; and Caleb W. Williams, 16, Country Club Drive, Warsaw. Taylor was stopped in a parking lot attempted to cross East Prairie Street when her vehicle struck Williams’ vehicle. Williams was traveling eastbound on East Prairie Street when the collision occurred. Damage up to $25,000.

3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1 Administration Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Dominic A. Degaetano, 19, Oriole Drive, Warsaw; and Kearsten A. Hucks, 25, South SR 19, Mentone. Degaetano was behind Hucks’ vehicle when he thought he saw Hucks’ brake lights turn off. Degaetano’s vehicle rear-ended Hucks’. Hucks said while she was stopped, Degaetano’s vehicle rear-ended hers. Damage up to $10,000.                                                                                                      

9:55 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, Dubois Drive, east of Provident Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Lisa N. Grooms, 28, Shamrock Circle 10, Pendleton. Grooms was traveling east on Provident Drive when she turned the wrong way on a one way street. Once she realized this, Grooms’ vehicle struck a concrete island and a “Do Not Enter” sign. Damage up to $5,000.

 

Winona Lake

Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

3:49 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, Kings Highway, west of Rupe Drive, Winona Lake. Drivers: Carol J. Emerick, 78, Jean Street, Winona Lake; and Ian A. Steller, 38, South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw. Steller was stopped at a stop sign when Emerick’s vehicle rear-ended him. Damage up to $2,500.
