BEAVER DAM LAKE — Firefighting units from Burket and Mentone were called to a trailer fire near Beaver Dam Lake late Tuesday morning, Oct. 23.

Kosciusko County dispatchers called out Burket EMS and firefighters at 11:45 a.m. for a trailer located at 9020 S. Smalley Lane in Seward Township. Burket almost immediately called for a full assist from the Mentone Fire Department. Citizens at the scene who called in the fire told dispatchers that smoke was rolling out of the house and that windows were beginning to break.

According to emergency responders, flames were visible inside the residence when the first firefighters arrived on scene. They were able to quickly extinguish the flames and the fire was listed as completely under control at 12:11 p.m.

No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. The residence is listed as being owned by Timothy Hedrick.
