Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
4:26 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, East Levi Lee Road, west of East Acorn Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Kenneth J. Graff, 35, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Graff told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Levi Lee Road when a deer entered the roadway. He said he swerved to avoid hitting the deer and hit two mailboxes. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:16 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, Jalynn Street and SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: James D. Alford, 67, East Country Club Lane, Syracuse; Tommy L. Myer, 68, Whitetail Run, Warsaw. Alford told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on Jalynn Street and that he was stopped at the intersection with SR 15. He said he wanted to change lanes, so he began to back his vehicle, not seeing the vehicle driven by Myer behind him, causing his vehicle to collide with Myer’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, South Hand Avenue, south of West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Phillip J. Maluchnik, 37, Ferndale Drive, Fort Wayne. Maluchnik told police he was driving his Ford Econoline northeast on Hand Avenue and said he wasn’t paying attention to the height restriction sign at the overhead bridge. His vehicle struck the concrete of the overpass. Damage up to $10,000.
5:48 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Adrian N. McDaniel, 32, North CR 250E, Syracuse; Gerald J. Gauthier, 67, East Arthur Street, Sidney. McDaniel told police she was driving her vehicle out of a parking lot and did not see the vehicle driven by Gauthier, which caused her vehicle to collide with the other vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:33 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, North Parker Street and Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacquelyn L. McDonald, 79, East North Road, Syracuse; Caleb E. Stephens, 42, South SR 15, Claypool. McDonald told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on Husky Trail and stopped at the intersection with North Parker Street. She said she did not see the vehicle driven by Stephens, turning in the intersection to travel southbound on North Parker Street and when she also turned south, her vehicle collided with his. Damage up to $10,000.
3:26 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, Corridor Drive, Warsaw. Mario A. Briseno Mosqueda, West Market St., Warsaw, told police he was leaving the parking lot of Harbor Freight when a vehicle backed out of a parking spot and collided with his vehicle. Briseno Mosqueda told police he tried to flag down the driver of the other vehicle but that he was unsuccessful. He told police he took a photo of the license plate but that the vehicle left westbound on US 30 and could not be tracked down. The vehicle is registered to Terry R. Greene, Plymouth LaPorte Trail, Walkerton. Damage up to $2,500.
