Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

12:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, West CR 100S, west of South CR 800W, Etna Green. Driver: Margarita Espinosa, 56, East Street, Tippecanoe. Espinosa told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on CR 100S when a deer entered the roadway. She said she was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

9:42 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, North SR 13, south of East CR 300N, North Webster. Driver: David W. Potter, 65, East Scots Court, Anderson. Potter told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to strike a guard rail. Potter complained of pain and was transported by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.

8:56 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, East Old Road 30, east of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Lauren E. Sheets, 23, North CR 350W, Columbia City. Sheets told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. She said she was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $10,000.

5:53 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, West CR 1350N, west of CR 500W, Nappanee. Driver: Caleb J. Miller, 16, 3rd Road, Bourbon. Miller told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on CR 1350N when he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and striking a phone junction box. Damage up to $5,000.

3:12 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, North CR 150W, south of West CR 500N, Warsaw. Driver: Corey A. Carson, 21, North Parks Schram Road, Warsaw. Carson told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on CR 150W when a deer entered the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid hitting the deer and also collided with a utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.

10:33 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, North Franklin Street, north of West Main Street, Mentone. Driver: Christopher C. Green, 47, North Morgan Street, Mentone. Green told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on Franklin Street when he took a corner too quickly, causing his vehicle to collide with a parked vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

1:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, South Huntington Street and East Maple Grove, Syracuse. Drivers: Desiree L. Cormican, 20, H Lane, Elkhart; Timothy W. Yoder, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Cormican told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on South Huntington Street and looked down to get a drink. She said when she looked up, her vehicle was about to collide with Yoder’s vehicle, which had stopped in traffic. Both drivers complained of pain and were transported to hospitals by EMS. Damage up to $25,000.

5:22 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, East Old Road 30, east of North SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Kathy S. Harris, 62, North Calais Rue, Columbia City. Harris told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. She said She was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

7:29 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, North SR 13 and Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Justin L. Green, 41, North Clark Street, Kimmell. Green told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, North CR 100E, south of CR 450N, Warsaw. Driver: Kyle D. Blackwell, 29, East North Winds Drive, Warsaw. Blackwell told police he was driving his vehicle south on CR 100E when a deer entered the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $2,500.

Pierceton

Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:

5:56 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, South SR 13, Pierceton. Carlos R. Spriggs of Claypool told police he witnessed a vehicle collide with his parked vehicle and flee the scene. Damage up to $2,500.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

12:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, Market Street, west of Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Danny Jo L. Slabaugh, 34, Old Colony Road, Warsaw; Alvin G. Schambers, 59, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Schambers told police he was stopped in his vehicle at the intersection of Detroit and Market streets and said his vehicle was hit by Slabaugh’s vehicle. Police were unable to get Slabaugh to respond, who remained in the vehicle with the doors locked. Police gained entry into the vehicle and ordered Slabaugh transported to the hospital, where it was reported he had a seizure. Police reported a medical condition as a possible cause of the crash. Damage up to $5,000.

6:16 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, East CR 75N and North CR 175E, Warsaw. Drivers: Kristy J. Newton, 55, East Pontiac Drive, Warsaw; Jordan K. Drudge, 30, Wakefield Drive, Goshen. Newton told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 175E and stopped at a four-way stop before proceeding into the intersection, where her vehicle collided with Drudge’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
