CULVER – South Central followed suit in the Culver Volleyball Sectional, knocking out Triton in straight sets Thursday.

In the third matchup of the Class 1-A Culver bracket, South Central sent Triton packing by a 25-22, 25-20, 26-24 scoreline.

Triton had Jaela Faulkner offer nine digs and seven kills to lead in each category, with Emma Hepler whistling four aces and 21 assists. Abbey Viers had seven kills and Lexia Hostrawser added a block for the Trojans, which bow out of the season at 6-24 overall.

South Central, regarded as the heavy favorite coming into the tourney, moves to 24-6 overall.

Tuesday night Oregon-Davis knocked out Argos 3-0 and LaCrosse opened Thursday’s play with a 3-0 win over the host Cavaliers.

Oregon-Davis (8-15) will open the Culver semi-finals Saturday against South Bend Career Academy (2-8) at 11 a.m. while South Central (19-9) and LaCrosse (5-20) will meet in game two. Culver’s championship is set for Saturday evening, a 7 p.m. start.
