KOSCIUSKO — In May, the Kosciusko County Community Foundation announced that, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, 10 youth-serving nonprofit organizations were selected to participate in Endowment Challenge 50. CASA is the second organization to have successfully completed the fundraising portion of the challenge.

Participating organizations committed to raising $10,000 for their endowment and to participate in multiple trainings focused on sustainability and donor development. In return, the youth-serving organizations would receive $40,000 in matching funds for a total of $50,000 for their endowment funds.

“CASA is an important advocate for children in our community who have been abused or neglected,” said Suzie Light, Community Foundation CEO. “The Community Foundation and our EC50 funding partners are thrilled to support CASA in their work to help ensure kids grow up in a safe, nurturing home.”

Endowment funds provide a charity with a consistent annual stream of revenue. The principle is not spent. It’s invested and the earnings from that investment support the work of the charity, forever.

The EC50 was made possible through the generous financial partnership of Dekko Foundation, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, the Ruth Lilly Philanthropic Foundation and the Dr. Dane & Mary Louise Miller Foundation.

Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Inc. has helped donors achieve their charitable dreams. The Community Foundation is a public charity that grants over $2 million annually in the areas of education, health, arts and culture, recreation, civic projects, environment and human services. Gifts made to the Community Foundation are tax-deductible. For more information about the Community Foundation visit www.kcfoundation.org, call (574) 267-1901 or stop by their office at 102 E Market Street, Warsaw.
