WARSAW — A Syracuse woman was arrested after officers discovered methamphetamine in a stolen vehicle.

Angel Marie Vining, 27, 18 EMS D25 Lane, Syracuse, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.

On Oct. 3, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department received information on a stolen vehicle from Columbia City. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as Vining.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer used a K9 unit to conduct an outer air search of the vehicle. The unit made a positive alert.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a pen tube and a plastic straw that contained a white residue in a purse. Officers also found a box that contained a metal smoking device and spoon. Officers field-tested the spoon and it tested positive for methamphetamine.

Vining admitted she knew the drug-related items were in the vehicle and that she had used methamphetamine earlier in the day.

She was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 3, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
