Enthusiasm continues to grow for Florida photographer Darlene Romano’s work, and the community is privileged to have a one-woman exhibit by this extraordinary artist.
Coming from Orlando, the work will be on display at the Warsaw City Hall Art Gallery from October through December and contains excellent artistic work that will captivate viewers. Romano is known for her peaceful and painterly nature photography, including landscapes, wildlife, florals and abstract pieces.
Throughout her career, Romano has been impressed with nature and the beauty that can be created through the lens of a camera. Influenced by such artists as Claude Monet, Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, Romano has created her own unique style that speaks to contemporary photography through her use of light and color.
This artist nudges viewers with images that speak volumes.
“I strive to bring images to life that evoke emotion,” said Romano. “I hope the viewers are connected to the visual beauty around us and, like me, appreciate the wonderful complexities of this planet and help to work to preserve it.”
Born in California, Romano has experienced life through many prisms and lenses and brings the viewer along to share those experiences.
Romano received her Bachelor’s Degree from Marion College in Indianapolis. The transition to photography came when she decided to “make photography more than a hobby and pursue my passion.” Romano graduated with a Master’s in Fine Art Photography from Academy of Art University.
“I love going out when few are awake to capture the rare activities to be found on a solitary beach or wildlife refuge,” Romano said. “It is at times like these when the most captivating events happen. I also enjoy work in the studio processing images into photographic moments frozen in time.”
Unbelievable colors flood some of her projects while others are stunning as black and white or sepia-toned offerings. The talent comes in the creation of the final results, which delight and intrigue the eye. From a multi-colored sunset over the water to a brilliant pink and white Roseate Spoonbill taking flight, the variety of images elicits admiration and awe.
“I hope my work helps people understand how important it is to protect our world, where we can each start in our own backyard and begin to make a tremendous effort in conserving our planet,” said Romano.
These wonderful, unique and stunning images will only be available to view until the end of December. The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Main and Buffalo Streets in Warsaw.
