Train Hits Pedestrian, All Crossings Closed In Milford

Members of the Milford Fire Department, Milford and Syracuse police departments, Lutheran EMS and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigate a train/pedestrian accident in Milford.

MILFORD — Authorities are investigating a train vs. pedestrian accident in Milford that has all crossings closed from Syracuse Street, south to at least CR 1150N. The crossings are expected to remain closed for several hours. The accident was reported around 6:30 p.m. tonight, Monday, Oct. 1.

Little details are known at this time. A pedestrian was struck by a northbound Norfolk Southern train at or near the Fourth Street crossing. The train, with three engines, stopped just north of the Syracuse Street Crossing.

Members of Milford Fire Department, Syracuse Police, Lutheran EMS, Milford Police Department and Kosciusko County FACT are at the scene conducting the investigation.

Persons attempting to travel east to west or west to east can cross the tracks in Milford Junction at this time.
