
Carolyn Kay Thomas, affectionately known as just Kay, 77, Silver Lake, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Dexter, Ohio to Doug Chaney and Magie (McClocklin) Chaney. On April 29, 1980, she was married to Roy Allan Thomas, who survives.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past 55 years where she worked at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, Maple Leaf Farms in Milford, and she also worked in the housekeeping department at Mason Health Care Center in Warsaw retiring in 2001. She was a hard worker and enjoyed her time off. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and many, many nieces and nephews.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Roy Allan Thomas, Silver Lake; son: Ken (Jane) Meeks, Silver Lake; two grandchildren: Angie (Calvin) Reece, Warsaw; Luke Meeks, Silver Lake; and three great grandchildren: Kayla and Logan Meeks, Bourbon; Alexis Reece, Warsaw. She also leaves behind her sister Helen Sabo, Etna Green; as well as Tracie (Travis) Scott and their three children, Madison, Noah, and Bentley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Odel, and her sister Mary.
Her memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher. Burial will take place at a later date at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana.
