MILFORD — The driver, and lone occupant of a Chrylser, was air lifted by Lutheran Air to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a one-vehicle crash tonight. The accident was reported at 9:21 p.m. on CR 1350N, east of CR 200W.

Milford firefighters had to use rescue equipment to remove the roof of this vehicle to extricate the driver.

The driver of the vehicle appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and went off the south side of the road, hitting a tree head on. Milford Fire Department used the JAWS of Life to extricate the driver.

A landing zone for the medical helicopter was set up at Purina Mills, by Milford Fire Department, assisted by Leesburg Fire Department.

Lutheran EMS, Nappanee Fire Department, Milford Fire Department, Milford and Syracuse police and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded.

The driver of this Chrysler was flown to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, with unknown injuries.
