NAPPANEE — The Nappanee Public Library has announced the following events for Sept. 16 to 23.

Jim Gill Concert — Sept. 16, 2 to 3 p.m. (all ages)
As part of the National Campaign for Play Tour, musician Jim Gill will be in concert at Leadership Parking Lot, during the Nappanee Apple Festival.

Recipe Swap — Sept. 17, 7 to 8 p.m. (adult)
Exchange your favorite recipes and collect some new favorites. Each month has a theme. In September, bring a dish made with apples, or try other dishes and return home with a stack of new recipes. No registration is necessary.

Cover To Cover Book Club — Sept. 18, 6:30 to 8 p.m. (adult)
Titles alternate between fiction and non-fiction. In September, read “The Hundred-Year Walk: An American Odyssey” by Dawn Anahud MacKeen. For more information, or to reserve a copy of an upcoming selection, see any service desk, or call (574) 773-7919. No registration is necessary.

Nappanee Button Club — Sept. 19, 10 a.m. to noon (adult)
The Nappanee Button Club is a fun, new program about antique, vintage and modern buttons with a focus on art and history. Participants can share collectibles or admire the buttons of other members. The club is for clothing buttons only. No registration is necessary.

Lego Club — Sept. 20, 4 to 5 p.m. (kids and tweens)
Children and “tweens” can join the library after school and enjoy different building challenges or win prizes. Meetings end with free building time. Snacks will be available. No registration is necessary.

What Parents Need To Know — Sept. 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (adult)
Wa-Nee School Resource Officer, Kris Hershberger will be joining the library for a presentation on “What Parents Need to Know.” Hershberger has been part of the Nappanee Police Department for more than five years and is actively involved with all five of the Wa-Nee schools. He will speak on topics such as social media, teenage drug trends, sexting, and other issues he has noticed as the school resource officer. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring children 13 and older. Registration is requested, but not required.

Along Came Nappanee Walking Tour — Sept. 20, 7 to 8 p.m. (adult)
Interested patrons can put on walking shoes and join the library to hit the pavement. Participants will venture out with a local Nappanee Center museum guide and take a walking tour of the town’s rich history. While walking through town, participants will learn how Nappanee came along and will discover the changes the town has made. Tourists will also learn more about the old city of Locke and discover what buildings and businesses, that started in Locke, moved to Nappanee once they noted the opportunities for growth. Planners hint that participants may even learn some old town secrets. The walking tour is made possible through a Historic Preservation Education grant from Indiana Landmarks, Indiana Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Young And Restless — Sept. 21, 10 to 10:30 a.m. (infants and toddlers)
The Young And Restless is a story time created for babies, toddlers, and caregivers. There will be bubbles, dancing, music, and stories. Participants can bring a blanket or play mat.
