WARSAW — Ivy Tech Community College hosted approximately 125 Latino students at its Warsaw campus on Friday, Sept. 14, during the Picture Yourself at Ivy Tech event, designed to promote the school to high school students who may still be undecided about their future after graduation.

Allyn Decker, vice chancellor at the Warsaw campus greeted the students at the building’s entrance.

“Did you know that Ivy Tech Community College is the number one choice of seniors looking for a college in Indiana?” Decker said. “And did you know that Ivy Tech is the most affordable option?”

Nicholas Spangle, Enrollment Services and Student Success Coordinator for Ivy Tech greeted students wearing a toga and wreath and said he would be highlighting student life during the 10-station tour. “We have a lot of really great clubs,” he said. “This is, as far as I know, the first event we’ve had and we’re really excited to do it.”

The tour was divided into groups to rotate between ten stations and each station featured an opportunity for the students to pose for pictures with the station presenter. Students were encouraged to upload their photos to social media accounts.

The hour-long tour also included a scavenger hunt and, in recognition of Latino History Month, special displays were available throughout the tour.
