Robotics Team Hosting ‘Girl Powered’ Event

SYRACUSE — Wawasee High School’s Iron Pride robotics team is hosting the second annual “Indiana Gets Girl Powered” event from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Wawasee High School Cafeteria. Enter door one and go left to the end of the hallway.

The event is open to girls ages 10-18 and is an opportunity for networking and making contact with women mentors in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. There will be discussion sessions with the different mentors from the STEM fields. And there will be a discussion regarding challenges women face in STEM fields and how those challenges can be overcome.

Dinner will be provided and there is no cost to attend.
