GOSHEN — It’s an event that draws collectors and dealers from around the Midwest.

They’re interested in a special kind of toy.

For many it brings back memories of when they were kids or reminds them of days gone by.

It’s the 31st annual Labor Day Toy Show in Goshen.

There was a steady flow of foot traffic at the Goshen fairgrounds, all there for a special kind of toy show that featured farm toys of all types along with different types of toy trucks and toy cars of all varieties.

Some looking to buy or to see that one of a kind toy.

It’s sponsored by the Michiana Farm Toy Collectors Club.

“You know somebody is looking for that one piece that they had as a child, or whatever, this is really the place you are going to find it, because this is one of the largest shows in the country. It draws a lot of people in and they all enjoy toys,” said Ken Miller, organizer.

More than half of those on hand are interested in toy tractors and implements of all shapes, sizes, brands, colors, some new, some limited edition, some from years back.

Trucks are gaining more interest.

“We probably have 40 or 50-percent of the show is trucks and se we get a much larger audience than just farm people anymore. And so that anybody that drives trucks enjoys coming to this this thing too because of that,” said Miller.

He says it’s one of the biggest toy collectable shows of its kind around the country. 2,000 people will go through the gates there, dealers come from as far away as Ohio, Michigan and even Missouri to take advantage of the big crowd.

People who drop by come from all walks of life.

“I have seen owners of companies here, executives. I’ve seen Amish here, everybody has a toy that they related to and sot it’s just a fun place for it, for those people to go to,” said Miller.

Something for everybody interested in toys with wheels.

One of the high-end items for sale Monday was a toy semi and trailer with spare parts.

The asking price was $1,300.
