Bobby Bruce Staner
Bobby Bruce Staner, 90, formerly of Plymouth, and currently of Warsaw, died at 3:43 p.m., Aug. 31, at Mason Health & Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, where he had been in declining health the past 2 years.
On Dec. 15, 1927, in Argos, he was born to Charles Staner and Nora (Myers) Staner and had lived most of his life in the Argos community.
He married Phyllis Tillman and they were married 35 years and later divorced. She preceded him in 2011.
He was a dairy farmer raising Registered Guernsey’s; later he worked for Morgan Drive Away as a truck driver, before returning to the farm with his family.
Mr. Staner was a graduate of the class of 1945 from Argos High School. He was a member of the American Guernsey Cattle Association, and was a Board member for several years. He had attended the Salem United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughters: Kay (Tom) Toll, Savannah, Ga.; and Diana (Gary) Lipply, Plymouth; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Luella Staner, New Freedom, Penn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Lowell, Billie, Ollie and Dick.
Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos with Rev. Dennis Bollenbacher and Rev. Doug Hawkins. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
