SILVER LAKE —  A motorcycle driver was injured after striking a deer tonight, Sept 2. The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on SR 14 in Silver Lake.

According to dispatch reports, the male driver was not wearing a helmet. He suffered injuries to the head, and according to reports was barely breathing.

A Samaritan medical helicopter was called to the scene and the driver was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne for treatment. A female passenger also suffered minor injuries.
