NAPPANEE – NorthWood stayed persistent and pulled out a 5-0 win over Bremen Monday in non-conference boys tennis.

All five matchups were contested well, the most lopsided was at No. 1 doubles where Trajan Schwartz and Jack Wysong beat Shay Kyser and Trevor Devine three and love.

At No. 1 singles, Wes Troyer came out with a three and two win over Mark Bahr and at No. 2, Ben Vincent beat Carson Miller three and four.

The other two courts went extras. At No. 2 doubles, Grant Topping and Dawson Bley need a second set tiebreaker to win, taking out Brett Yelaska and Cale Brown 6-3, 7-6 (3). At No. 3 singles, Landon Holland and Dawson Hickman waged the longest battle, pushing well past two hours in the 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-4 win for Holland to seal up the shutout.

In JV scores, NorthWood and Bremen tied 4-4.

NorthWood will stay home this week and host Memorial Thursday in Northern Lakes Conference action.
