Claypool

Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:

2:19 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, East SR 14, Silver Lake. Drivers: Cynthia D. Hoffman, 64, North Cass Street, Wabash; and Deborah J. Johnston, 51, West Kokomo Road, Claypool. Hoffman was making a left turn and did not see Johnston’s vehicle, which was eastbound on SR 14. Hoffman’s vehicle pulled into the path of Johnston’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000. 

Milford

Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:

6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, South East Street, north of East Shade Tree Lane, Milford. Drivers: Sue A. Boyer, 64, North East Street; and Tom D. Levernier, 68, Kinwood Drive, Milford. Boyer advised that she was following Levernier’s vehicle. She stated that Levernier’s vehicle veered to the left side of the road so she thought he was making a left turn. As Boyer proceeded to pass Levernier’s vehicle, Levernier attempted to turn right onto East Shade Tree Lane, resulting in the vehicles colliding. Levernier stated that he was attempting to turn right and had used his right turn signal. He advised that due to a large tree close to the side of the road, he was forced to make a wide right turn. Damage up to $5,000. 

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:

7:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, North SR 13, near East CR 400N, Leesburg. Drivers: Donald M. Rothermel, 68, Beaver Creek Lane, Mokena, Ill.; and Joseph L. Halsey, 34, East CR 400N, Leesburg. Rothermel was behind Halsey’s vehicle, both heading south on SR 13. Halsey applied his brakes suddenly, which caused Rothermel to turn right onto the shoulder to avoid a collision. Halsey’s vehicle made a right hand turn, causing Rothermel to sideswipe Halsey’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

10:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, North Park Avenue, south of Glessner Street, Warsaw. Driver: Angela K. Smith, 51, Greene Drive, Warsaw. Smith was traveling south on North Park Avenue when a bicyclist came out of an alley from the west. Smith was unable to avoid hitting the bicycle, which caused the bike rider, Friday Graham, 8, Warsaw, to be thrown off his bike. Graham was treated for road rash and transported by EMS to Parkview Hospital, Warsaw. Damage up to $1,000.
