BREAKING — Multiple Fire Units Respond To Louis Dreyfus Fire

Firefighters arrived at Louis Dreyfus Commodities Friday, Aug. 24, to battle a fire of unknown origin.

CLAYPOOL — Units from the Claypool Fire Department were dispatched at 8:01 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 to Louis Dreyfus Commodities at 7344 SR 15.

Units at the scene called for backup. It is unknown at this time the seriousness of the fire or the cause. Officials at the soybean-processing facility denied access to media and refused to answer questions. Dispatchers told responding units that the fire alarm was originating from the water alarm prep.

Units from Warsaw were called to assist and firefighters at the scene asked for Winona Lake’s ladder truck. By 8:20, Winona Lake was asked to disregard.
