
KOSCIUSKO — A Pierceton man was arrested after overdosing on heroin at his mother’s residence in 2017.
Kevin Jay Harris, 42, 2601 N. SR 13, Pierceton, is being charged with possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony.
On June 23, 2017, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a drug overdose and CPR in progress at a residence.
The officer arrived and medics were tending to Harris, who was conscious and alert. According to the affidavit of probable cause, medics advised they treated Harris for a heroin overdose. Harris had a hypodermic syringe in his left front pocket. A syringe was also located on the bathroom floor.
The officer spoke with Harris’s mother, who said Harris came to her residence, went into the bathroom and injected himself with heroin.
Harris was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 24, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
