Mr. Roger A. Scott, 51, Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 7:26 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at his home. This followed a valiant four year battle with brain tumors.
On Jan. 14, 1967, he was born in Rochester to Lewis “Wendell” and Carol Coffman Scott. Growing up he shared his childhood with two brothers, Gary and Glen. With great Viking pride he graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1985.
In the Tiosa Brethren Church Aug. 26, 1989, Roger Scott married the love of his life, Joan Piper. They shared 29 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced four wonderful children. More blessings have been added to the family tree with the addition of two grandchildren.
For 28 years, he was a lab technician for Accument Global Technology, formerly TORX of Rochester. He later served as group leader for 16 years. As a member of New Life Church, he shared his computer and tech skills and was the “soundman” for many events. He was also a former member of the Mentone Flying Club.
Paramount in his life was his family. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He committed his life to serving God and his family.
Left to cherish Roger Scott’s memories are his wife, Joan; his parents, Wendell and Carol Scott; two daughters: Anna Williams and husband Brandon, Abigail Scott; two sons: Aaron Scott and wife Hayley, Adam Scott; two grandchildren: Caitlyn and Oliver Williams, all of Rochester; two brothers: Gary Scott and wife Karen of Macy, Glen Scott and wife Angela and their daughter Zoe of Shipshewana; and his mother-in-law, Susan Van Curen of Mentone.
Preceding him in death are his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pastor Rick Smail will officiate services. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
