Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:54 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, North CR 950W, near West CR 75N, Warsaw. Driver: Kyle S. Foltz, 25, West CR 25S, Etna Green. Foltz was traveling north on CR 950W, turning west onto CR 75N when he cut the corner too short, striking a steel post in the ground. Damage up to $5,000.
2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, West Van Buren Street, near North Pearl Street, Leesburg. Driver: unoccupied. Tamela R. Shafer thought she had put her vehicle in park. However, the vehicle was actually in reverse. The unoccupied vehicle crossed a roadway, striking a parked vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, South CR 700W, near West SR 14, Silver Lake. Driver: Robert L. McDonough, 47, East CR 125S, Akron. McDonough was traveling north on CR 700W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, East Center Street, north of Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Gerald G. Hochstetler, 56, South Country Club Road 7, Warsaw; and Michael A. Utter, 55, South Country Club Road 15, Warsaw. Hochstetler was traveling west on East Center Street when he changed his lane of travel. He did not see Utter in his blind spot. Damage up to $2,500.
4:32 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, SR 15, north of 059D, Warsaw. Drivers: Elizabeth E. Mills, 85, South Bouse Drive, Silver Lake; and Adam R. Sheets, 44, East Center Street, Warsaw. Mills was traveling south on SR 15 when she attempted to move to the left lane. She did not notice Sheets’ vehicle in the left lane in front of her. Mills rear-ended Sheets’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:09 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, East US 30, near North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tricia M. Johnson, 37, East CR 400N, Pierceton; and Roberta S. Golani, 62, Seafarer Cove, Fort Wayne. Johnson was traveling west on US 30 approaching an intersection when the light turned left. She was unable to stop in time, causing her vehicle to hit Golani’s. Golani complained of a sore neck but declined medical services. Damage up to $1,000.
