Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

5:18 p.m. Monday, July 23, 1 Warrior Path, Syracuse. Driver: Darcy Tranter, 39, CR 925E, Pierceton. Tranter’s vehicle struck a parked car owned by Cherine Hare-Syers, Syracuse, while pulling into a parking space. Damages up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

8:01 p.m. Monday, July 23, Old Road 30, east of North CR 600W, Warsaw. Driver: Lyle Witham, 80, Monument, Hayward Calif. Witham’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.

7:04 p.m. Monday, July 23, SR 13, north of East South Barbee Drive, North Webster. Driver: Stephen Botchkai, 67, CR 850W, Pierceton. Botchkai’s vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and landed on its roof. Botchkai stated he did not remember the accident and might have fallen asleep. Botchkai complained of chest pain and was bleeding from the nose. He was transported to Parkview Hospital Warsaw for his injuries.  Damages up to $5,000.

8:49 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, SR 15 and Ranch Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jerry Baker, 53, Sherman Boulevard, Fort Wayne; and Heath Beck, 25, Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Baker stated that Beck’s vehicle had cut him off at the intersection of East Winona Avenue and Detroit Street. According to Baker, a road rage incident ensued and he slammed on his brakes when he though a vehicle was going to pull out in front of him, causing Beck’s vehicle to rear-end Bakers vehicle. Beck told police that Baker cut him off at the intersection of SR 15 and Kincaide Street and that Baker proceeded to exit his vehicle and spit on him. Beck further advised he followed Baker’s vehicle to take a photo of the license plate and Baker slammed on his brakes, causing the rear-end accident. Damages up to $5,000.
