NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce worked through a short business meeting and then discussed the Dixie Day Festival at length Monday, July 9, at the chamber office in the Tippecanoe Township Building.

A final committee meeting will be held noon Monday, July 23, at the chamber office and all committee members are urged to attend. Most events will occur from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the 5K at 8 a.m. Extra Dixie cruises are at 1 and 2:30 p.m. all Saturday, July 28.
Committees include extra Dixie boat cruises, 5K sanctioned run and walk, chamber information tent, juried arts and crafts fair and direct sales vendors, antique tent, open air market, and merchant sales, library used book sale, car, truck and motorcycle show, tractor show, vintage snowmobile show, food vendors, and the July 27 and 28 area boat dealer show.
Help from members is needed for the 5K, chamber information booth, set up and clean up committees. Email [email protected] to volunteer and get information or attend the Dixie Day Festival meeting.
“A new event this year is the North Webster Fire Department all you can eat breakfast from 7-10 a.m. at the downtown fire station on SR 13,” reported Jen Ducey, board member representing Tippecanoe Township.
Presided over by President Jim Smith, Loose Moose Motorsports, the business meeting included discussion of the North Webster Community Guide Books distribution. Distribution chairman Ducey said more guides needed to be delivered to NewMarket but the main problem was The Papers delivery drivers were placing its publications in the rack, which is marked as belonging to the chamber.
Board member Martha Stoelting, The Papers, will talk with The Papers Circulation Manager Jerry Straka to help alleviate the problem. The rack was donated by The Papers, so it looks familiar to the delivery drivers.
Frederick will deliver more of the guides to NewMarket while board member Paula Miller of Paula Miller Farm has delivered to North Webster Ace Hardware. Board member Linda Land, Lake-Land Cottages, will move a rack from one location to another. Any business not receiving copies of the 2018-19 guide or needing more should contact the chamber by email [email protected].
Members wishing to utilize the chamber sign on the south end of town should contact Land. She will explain fees and length of time it can be used. Also, members can place free notices of business events on the chamber website by emailing board member Tammy Waiczek, Dixie Haven Resort, at [email protected].
The next regular meeting of the chamber membership will be noon Monday, Aug. 13, at the chamber office, 102 S. Morton St.
