Plymouth Pair Highlight All-State Baseball

INDIANAPOLIS – Two from the Plymouth baseball team headlined area players selected by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State lists.
Second baseman Cam Dennie was chosen First-Team All-State for the Pilgrims while teammate Benji Nixon was selected Honorable Mention All-State for Class 4-A. The two were the only players from the Northern Lakes Conference for the respective lists.
Also chosen from Class 4-A from the area were Penn’s Payton Kerr, DeKalb’s Alec Brunson and Elkhart Central’s Jared Miller, all taken as Honorable Mentions.
From Class 3-A, Lakeland second baseman Nolan Isaacs was picked as First-Team All-State. Honorable Mentions went to John Glenn’s Robbie Berger and Michael Machnic, Culver Academy’s Hayden Schott, Columbia City’s Tanner Clark and South Bend St. Joe’s Brady Gropf.
From Class 1-A, Pioneer had three named First-Team All-State in second baseman Trey Waddups, third baseman Nate Johnson and outfielder Cory Gutshall. Northfield pitcher Blake Harner and South Central outfielder Carson Husmann were also taken First-Team All-State while South Central’s Kyle Schmack was named Honorable Mention.
