MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library in Mentone is having a book sale in the main lobby. Single titles are 25 cents each or five books for $1.
The library invites patrons to Story Hour every Wednesday at 3 p.m. and every Friday at 10 a.m. During this activity, children will listen to a story, sing songs and make a craft.
The library’s 2018 Summer Reading Program started Monday, June 4. It is open to all age groups. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock.” The program runs for six weeks and finishes July 13. Participants must have a library card (contact the library for more information on how to obtain one). All students attending Tippecanoe Valley Schools are eligible to receive a library card.
Summer reading programs also include:
- “Shrek the Musical,” July 9. Popcorn and beverage provided.
- Kids, join the library on Wednesday, July 11, to make a rock picture.
- Teens and young adults, join the library on Thursday, July 12, to make a rock picture.
As a part of the continued development of the library’s new Reading Garden, the Library Board is offering patrons an opportunity to purchase an inscribed paver brick to serve as a memorial for an individual, family, or business.
Many bricks have been purchased so far and may be inscribed with up to four lines. Each line will contain up to 12 spaces, including blanks. A paver brick may be purchased for $100 each, and these bricks will be incorporated in the walkway throughout the outdoor area.
