Claypool

Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:

7:16 a.m. Thursday, July 5, East CR 850S, east of SR 13, Sydney. Driver: Terry E. Day, 61, East Center Street, Sidney. Day was traveling west on CR 850S when a deer ran into the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:26 a.m. Friday, July 6, East CR 225S, west of Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Candi Kintzel, 47, Julian Drive, Warsaw; and Misty Dawson, 36, CR 100, Pierceton. Dawson attempted to pass Kintzel’s vehicle as Kintzel was turning into a driveway. Dawson’s vehicle struck the rear of Kintzel’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000. 

10:36 p.m. Thursday, July 5, West CR 525S, east of South CR 450W, Warsaw. Driver: James Smith, 37, North CR 400E, Warsaw. Smith’s vehicle collided with a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $10,000. 

9:58 p.m. Thursday, July 5, SR 25, west of Shilling Road, Mentone. Driver: Jon Whittenberger, 53, CR 600S, Mentone. Whittenberger’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. damages up to $10,000. 

9:44 p.m. Thursday, July 5, West CR 1350N, east of North CR 750E, Nappanee. Drivers: Justin Sizemore, 17, CR 825E, Syracuse; and Jacob Truman, 25, Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw. The two vehicles collided while traveling in opposite directions. Both drivers stated they were driving on or near the center line. Damages up to $10,000.

Syracuse

Officers with the SyracusePolice Department investigated the following accident:

12:03 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 308 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Cindy Raspiller, 58, Blood Road, Mont Vernon, N.H. Raspiller was backing her vehicle out of a parking spot and struck a parked car owned by Scottie Keaffaber, Syracuse. Damages up to $10,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

6:15 p.m. Thursday, July 5, Old Road 30, near US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Douglas R. Kelly, 67, Frontage Road 32, Warsaw; and Mary A. Montemayor, 69, Walnut Lane, Hobart. Kelly was traveling west on Old Road 30 when he began traveling in what he thought was the left lane of travel. However, it was actually the eastbound lane of travel. While in the intersection, Kelly’s vehicle collided with Montemayor’s. Damage up to $5,000.
