DONALDSON – After taking some time away, Jaela Meister is getting her groove back.

Taking a year off to pursue cosmetology school, 2016 Triton High School graduate Meister is returning to the volleyball court after signing a letter of intent to play at Ancilla College.

Meister was in the middle of Triton’s recent run of success on the volleyball court. Meister helped Triton win three consecutive sectional championship from 2014-16 (Triton also won this past fall to continue its streak of four straight), and was a dominant middle hitter for the program. Meister had over 360 kills her senior season, using her 5-10 frame well to move both inside and outside.

Meister was a four-year letterwinner for the Trojans, earning 11 letters overall also starring for the basketball and track programs. She was also the Triton Female Athlete of the Year in both the 2015 and 2016 school years.

After graduation, Meister attended cosmetology school and will complete her Associate Degree at Ancilla while playing volleyball for coach Jordan Weitzell.

“Jaela is a great addition to our team for the fall season,” said Weitzell. “She is an aggressive athlete and a great team leader. She will do big things for us.”
