Animal Welfare Coalition Unites To Provide Pet Identification
FORT WAYNE — In hopes of providing permanent identification to as many pets as possible before July 4th, $4 microchips will be offered to dogs and cats on Friday.
This project will be a joint effort between the Humane Organization for the Prevention of Euthanasia, the Allen County SPCA and Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control.
Here’s the times and locations you can get the microchips:
- H.O.P.E. for Animals between 9am and 3pm 1333 Maycrest Drive 260-420-7729
- Allen County SPCA between 11am and 6pm 4914 S. Hanna Street 260-744-0454
- Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control between 11am and 5:30pm 3020 Hillegas Road 260-427-1244
More pets are lost on the 4th of July than on any other day of the year. The staff at H.O.P.E. urges all pet owners to take advantage of microchipping before the holiday.
Pet owners can verify and update their contact information for free at www.foundanimals.org.
