Wilford Prater, 78, Warsaw, passed into eternal rest and reward at 11:05 a.m., Wednesday June 13, 2018, in his residence. He was born on Jan. 31, 1940, to Virgle Preston Prater and Pearlie (Adams) Prater in Brainard, Ky.

He was united in marriage to Vickie North on Feb. 8, 1992 in Rockville. He worked for Southside Towing and Auto Sales for 50 years.

Mr. Prater accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on Sept. 30, 2017.

Wilford Prater is survived by his wife Vickie Prater of Warsaw; children: Bobbie Crouch, Brandon Prater, Rebecca Overlander, John Kuta, Jan Huff, all of Warsaw; Tabatha Kuta of Plymouth; and Michael Kuta of Warsaw; his siblings: Juanita Shepherd, Cliff Prater, Geneva Prater, Mary Prater, Barb (Darrell) Prater, Arnold (Amy) Prater, Ron Prater, Phyllis (Greg) Varney and Don (Judy) Prater; 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, his first wife, Virginia Prater, a sister in law, Jan prater, Wesley Prater and a brother in law Nate Shepherd.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and classic car auctions. He was cherished by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., Monday June 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday June 19, at the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Crace and Reverend Robert Brown officiating.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family is requesting that the memorial contributions be made to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Ct., Warsaw, Indiana 46580 for funeral expenses.
