WINONA LAKE — The Winona Lake Redevelopment Commission continued its ongoing study of a proposed TIF district expansion at a meeting Wednesday, June 13.

“We can TIF anywhere within the overall economic development area,” said Town Coordinator Craig Allebach. Allebach presented the board with a map, which shows the proposed expansion. “I don’t know that this will change at all before we go to a declaratory resolution.”

The board members discussed various areas that could be added to the proposed expansion, but no action was taken.

A TIF District is an area where municipalities can borrow funds for the purpose of installing the types of infrastructure that make the areas attractive to incoming industry.

The board also awarded a bid to Irrigation Guys, Claypool, for $3,021 to install irrigation.
