PIERCETON — A Pierceton man is facing charges after police were dispatched regarding a domestic battery incident.

John Doss, 43, 308 S. First St., Apt. A, Pierceton, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under the age of 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Friday, May 18, police responded to a domestic battery incident on First Street in Pierceton. Upon arrival, police observed that a yellow car was pinned between two other vehicles. An officer then spoke with the female victim.

The female stated that Doss had become angry with her while inside the residence and began cornering her in the kitchen and chest-bumping her in a rude, insolent or angry manner while two children under the age of 16 were present. Doss and the female share the residence where the incident occurred.

The female decided to take her two children and leave the residence. She and the children got inside the yellow car. At that time, Doss reportedly came out of the residence and ripped the mirrors off the vehicle and tried to break the window.

Doss then got into his vehicle and backed into the yellow car, pinning it against another vehicle. Damage was caused to all three vehicles as a result of this.

Doss was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail May 18 on a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
