WHITLEY COUNTY — Marjorie S. Goodson, 74, Columbia City, died in a two-vehicle accident today, Friday, June 1, on SR 14 at CR 500E in Whitley County. The accident was at 11:41 a.m.

Goodson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Sarah M. Goodson, 47, Fort Wayne. Sarah Goodson is listed in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne. The driver of a semitractor/trailer, Mark L. Sleighter, 57, South Whitley, was not injured.

Whitley County Sheriff’s Department reports Sleighter’s semi, a 2006 International, and Goodson’s 2013 Kia were both westbound on SR 14, approaching CR 500E. Goodson had slowed her vehicle to make a turn onto CR 500E and while making a turn onto the county road, her vehicle was struck by Sleighter’s semitractor.
