Kosciusko

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

5:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, West CR 200S, east of CR 550W, Warsaw. Driver: Rex Dickey, 80, CR 200S, Warsaw. Dickey’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $2,500. 

1:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, West CR 700S, west of South CR 450W, Claypool. Driver: Zempoaltecatl Aca, 18, Valentine Road, Claypool. Aca stated she thought she was going to hit a car so she swerved her vehicle to miss it. Aca lost control of the vehicle, left the right side of the roadway and over-corrected off the left side of the road way. The vehicle then struck a utility pole, traveled through a ditch and struck a second utility pole. Damages up to $10,000.

11:43 a.m. Sunday, May 27, West Market Street, north of Fifth Street, Warsaw. Driver: Richard Gensch, 86, Washington Street, Pierceton. Gensch was driving eastbound on Pierceton Road, which turns into Market Street, and had a blackout due to medical reasons. Gensch’s vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch and came to rest in a yard. Gensch was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Damages up to $5,000.

Syracuse

Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, East Bowser Road and North CR 300E, Syracuse. Drivers: Dylan White, 24, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw; and Denton Williams, 74, EMS C27C Lane, Warsaw. A vehicle pulled out in front of William’s vehicle while driving southbound on CR 300E. Williams quickly slowed his vehicle, causing White’s vehicle to rear-end his. Damages up to $10,000.

Warsaw

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

6:47 p.m. Wednesday, May, 30, East Center and North McKinley streets, Warsaw. Drivers: Logan Sills, 19, Old SR 13, Pierceton; and Brent Cobb, 45, Stratford Drive, Winona Lake. Sills stated he was distracted and did not see the stop sign. Sill’s vehicle ran the stop sign and collided with Cobb’s vehicle in the intersection. Both drivers refused medical treatment. Damages up to $10,000.

Winona Lake

Officers from the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

7:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, East Pierceton Road and South CR 275E, Winona Lake. Drivers: Grayson Kilburn, 16, CR 375S, Warsaw; and Jaclyn Warren, 37, Bronson Street, Warsaw. Kilburn stopped his vehicle at a stop sign and told officers he did not see the approaching vehicle. Kilburn’s vehicle struck Warren’s vehicle in the intersection. Damages up to $5,000.
