Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

3:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Driver: David J. Swain, 33, East Church Street, Warsaw. Swain advised he was backing out of a parking space in the Warsaw Christian School parking lot and his vehicle struck the rear bumper of a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $1,000. 

3:16 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, West Center Street and Leiter Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jose Cruz, 67, Oldfather Street, Warsaw; and Robert F. Michelbrink, 54, North CR 1000E, Kendallville. Cruz stated he was stopped at the intersection and did not realize Michelbrink’s vehicle was turning left onto Leiter Drive. Cruz’s vehicle struck the front left of Michelbrink’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000. 

9:35 p.m. Monday, May 21, East Sheridan Street, west of North Lindburg Street, Warsaw. A parked, unoccupied vehicle was struck while parked on East Sheridan Street. The driver of the other vehicle left the scene. Damage up to $5,000. 

Winona Lake

Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

7:13 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 15th Street and Walnut Avenue, Winona Lake. Driver: Elycia R. Clemans, 27, 14th Street, Winona Lake. Clemans advised she was eastbound on 15th Street and was preparing to turn north onto Walnut Avenue. She believed her vehicle may have hit a car parked on the east side of Walnut Avenue, near the intersection, while turning so she attempted to back up. While backing up, her vehicle struck a yield sign, ripping the sign out of the ground. Damage up to $2,500.
