An Elkhart man was arrested after his vehicle struck a Warsaw residence.

WARSAW — An Elkhart man was arrested after his vehicle collided with a house.

At approximately 8:17 p.m. Saturday, May 19, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of a residence that was struck by a vehicle.

The crash involved a silver 2004 Dodge Ram, operated by Israel T. Jimenz, 32, Elkhart. Jimenez stated that he went off the roadway to avoid hitting another vehicle. The residence at 810 N. Lake St., owned by Matthew L. Blankenship, sustained damage to the yard, porch and window. A Chevy Malibu at the residence was hit with bricks from the accident.

A yard and chain link fence at 804 N. Lake St. also sustained damage from Jimenez’s vehicle.

Jimenez was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on May 19 for operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated with a prior.

Damages are estimated at up to $100,000. No injuries were reported at the scene.
