Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

5:06 p.m. Monday, May 21, East CR 1000N, east of North Hasse Court, Milford. Driver: Steven G. Ladig, 32, East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Ladig stated that the accelerator stuck on his vehicle, causing his vehicle to exit the roadway and get stuck in a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.

2:14 p.m. Monday, May 21, South SR 15, near West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric L. Crum, 40, South CR 200W, Silver Lake; and Jenny J. Johnson, 44, West CR 1400N, North Manchester. Crum was traveling north on SR 15 while Johnson was traveling west on CR 200S. Crum had a red light and Johnson had a green light. Johnson proceeded through the intersection when Crum struck her vehicle at the left rear tire. Damage up to $10,000.

12:40 a.m. Monday, May 21, South SR 13, south of South CR 500E, Warsaw. Driver: Edgar D. Estrada, 21, East Varsity Lane, Bloomington. Estrada was traveling south on SR 13 when a deer entered his lane of travel. Damage up to $5,000.

9:37 p.m. Sunday, May 20, South County Farm Road, north of East CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Robert P. Barefoot, 63, North CR 325E, North Manchester. Barefoot was traveling north on County Farm Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.

5:27 a.m. Saturday, May 19, East CR 1290N, west of North CR 825E, Syracuse. Driver: Debra A. Goldsworthy, 57, North Beau Peep Lane, Cromwell. Goldsworthy was traveling west on CR 1290N when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a Nipsco utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.

7:04 p.m. Friday, May 18, School Street, west of North Donna Street, Leesburg. Driver: Brandon M. Price, 21, South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Price was traveling east on School Street when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a steel post, causing it to roll onto its side and strike a fence. Price was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for complaint of pain to his shoulder. Damage up to $10,000.                      

7:27 a.m. Thursday, May 17, US 30, east of SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: George Alverio, 56, South 2nd Street, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Bryan K. Smith. Alverio was traveling west on US 30 when he noticed stopped traffic. He couldn’t get his vehicle stopped in time, causing him to rear-end Smith’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

6:39 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2455 Jalynn St. Drivers: Ricky E. Sanders, 41, East Toto Road, Knox; and Kelly L. Crist, 36, West CR 700N, Leesburg. Crist was pulling into a parking lot when Sanders’ vehicle backed out of its parking space, striking her vehicle on the passenger side. Damage up to $2,500.

10:49 a.m. Monday, May 21, North Detroit Street, north of Plaza Drive. Drivers: Jayme L. Nuno, 24, West Market Street, Warsaw; and Luis F. Guerra, 34, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Nuno stated that Guerra’s vehicle’s turn signal was on, as if it was going to turn into a gas station Nuno’s vehicle was exiting from. Guerra’s vehicle collided into the side of Nuno’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

8:17 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 810 North Lake St. Driver: Israel T. Jimenez, 32, Compton Avenue, Elkhart. Jimenez stated that he ran off the roadway to avoid hitting another vehicle. His vehicle collided with a house owned by Matthew L. Blankenship. Damaged property at the address included a yard, pine tree, bushes, porch and window. A Chevy Malibu was hit with bricks from the accident. At 804 N. Lake St., a yard and chain link fence were damaged from Jimenez’s vehicle. Damage up to $100,000.
