BREAKING: Home Sustains Extensive Heat And Smoke Damage

MILFORD — Milford Fire Department was called around 10:55 a.m. today, Thursday, May 17, to a house fire at the corner of James and Catherine streets, Milford. Heavy smoke was reported to be coming from the house.

Firefighters found the fire to be at 101 S. James St., on the southwest corner of the intersection. Manpower from Plain Township and Turkey Creek Fire Territory was requested.

Upon entering the home, firefighters encountered extensive smoke and heat with fire in the northeast corner. Smoke was ventilated from the home, while firefighters extinguished the fire.

A dog in the fenced in side yard was taken to safety by a neighbor.

No one was at home at the time of the fire. According to Kosciusko County property records the home is owned by Shawn L. Reinhard.

Red Cross has been requested to assist the homeowners and their three children with temporary housing.
