Milford Police Apprehend Burglary Suspect Fleeing From The Scene

MILFORD — At approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 14, Milford Police was dispatched to a suspicious person at 309 W. Emeline St., the Milford Stop N Go. Upon arrival Officer Brandon Shipp observed the front door of the store had been broken and then observed a suspect inside the store.

The suspect exited the store and ran west from the store. Officer Shipp made apprehension of the suspect in the rear of a residence at the corner of Emeline and Higbee streets. An undisclosed amount of cash was recovered from the suspect Earl H. Smith Jr.

Smith was then transported to KCH to be medically cleared and then booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for burglary, theft and resisting/fleeing law enforcement. Milford Police was assisted at the scene by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, and Syracuse Police Department.

All accusations are alleged at this point and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in the court of law.
